On a crisp Friday evening at Lobo Stadium, the Marcus Marauders and Little Elm Lobos battled to secure their first District 5-6A victory. Despite a resilient late-game push, Marcus fell short on the road, suffering a 29-13 defeat. The loss extends the Marauders' difficult district skid to five games.

The Lobos' offense capitalized on explosive plays to build their advantage. Little Elm quarterback Surya Sashwath stretched the field with a 49-yard touchdown strike to Stephen Harper, later adding a 35-yard touchdown pass to Caden McGee. Sashwath also proved dangerous near the goal line, plunging into the end zone for a 1-yard rushing score to keep the Marauders at bay.

Marcus quarterback Cash Davis navigated consistent pressure in the pocket, taking an early sack from Little Elm's Zayden Watts but showing grit by scrambling for positive yardage to keep plays alive. The Marauders kept fighting, eventually finding the end zone when Davis connected with trusted receiver Jameson Mayfield for a 6-yard touchdown pass.

With the result, the Marauders fall to 2-6 overall and 0-5 in district play. Head coach Mike Alexander will turn the team's focus toward shoring up the defensive secondary and establishing a more consistent offensive rhythm early in games.

Marcus remains on the road next week, traveling to take on the Guyer Wildcats on October 30. The Marauders will be hungry to put the pieces together and earn a hard-fought district win as the season enters its final stretch.
