Fort Worth Christian snapped a brief two-game skid and got right back in the win column in dominant fashion on Thursday night, shutting out Lake Country Christian 8-0 on their home diamond. The complete-game victory boosts the Cardinals' overall record to an impressive 12-3 as they approach the end of their pre-district campaign.
The Cardinals' offense found its groove and capitalized on scoring opportunities to build a commanding lead. Grady Emerson delivered the marquee swing of the night, ripping a line-drive double into the left-center field gap that easily scored Griffin Carney and kept the pressure squarely on the Lake Country Christian defense.
On the defensive side, the Cardinals executed flawlessly to support their pitching staff. Gregory Smeds commanded the mound, consistently attacking the strike zone and inducing weak contact to keep the visitors off the board.
