Highland Park Scots football · 2026 season.

The Highland Park Scots opened their 2026 season with an offensive fireworks show at The Star in Frisco, but ultimately fell to the Lewisville Farmers 56-42 on Saturday afternoon. Head Coach Randy Allen's squad went blow for blow in the non-district clash, but a few early miscues and a relentless Lewisville attack proved to be the difference.

Quarterback Buck Randall anchored the Highland Park offense, connecting on multiple big plays despite facing heavy pressure. Randall found his rhythm through the air, delivering a pair of pinpoint touchdown strikes to receiver Beckett Lawrence, while also doing damage with his legs on a gritty one-yard goal-line sneak.

The Scots showcased their versatility in the red zone and out of the backfield. James Flowers provided a major spark, taking a direct snap and rushing to the left for a Highland Park touchdown, while Boone Thompson reeled in a clutch pass from Randall over the middle to move the chains. However, the Farmers matched Highland Park's intensity, utilizing quarterback Laken Brasfield's dual-threat ability to consistently find the end zone and capitalizing on a crucial strip-sack fumble recovered by the Lewisville defense.

Despite the opening-day setback, the 42-point output provides a solid foundation for the Highland Park offense as they look to iron out the early-season wrinkles. The Scots will regroup and hit the road again next week to face Rockwall Heath, seeking their first victory of the campaign.
