The Fort Worth Christian Cardinals continued their dominant push through TAPPS district play on Thursday night, cruising to a resounding 11-1 victory over All Saints at Cat Corden Field. The blowout win solidifies the Cardinals' position atop the league standings, elevating their district record to an impressive 8-1 while pushing their overall mark to 24-5-1.
Offensive fireworks were once again provided by the relentless Grady Emerson. The Cardinals' catalyst launched a line-drive home run to right field, spectacularly extending his hitting streak to 15 games and his on-base streak to 30. Emerson wasn't finished there, later ripping an RBI triple to left field that plated Griffin Carney as he slid safely into third base.
Fort Worth Christian capitalized on every opportunity to keep the pressure on the All Saints pitching staff. During a crucial sequence early in the contest, Andrew Ridgell showed immense plate discipline by drawing a bases-loaded walk off pitcher R Skaggs, forcing in a run and extending the Cardinals' early lead to 2-0.
The Cardinals won't have to wait long to run it back against All Saints. Fort Worth Christian hits the road on Friday, April 10, for the back half of this district series, looking to complete the sweep and maintain their stranglehold on the top spot in the standings.
