Fort Worth Christian Cardinals baseball · 2026 season.
Fort Worth Christian bounced back in a big way on Thursday afternoon, securing a 4-0 shutout victory over Legacy Christian Academy on their home diamond. Shaking off their first loss of the season from the weekend prior, the Cardinals (4-1) dominated on the mound and delivered timely hitting to claim the opening half of a split doubleheader.
Grady Emerson was the offensive catalyst for FWC, delivering multiple clutch hits to drive in runs. Emerson opened the scoring early when he drove in Griffin Carney—who had ripped a lead-off double and stolen third—with a sharp RBI single to left field. Later in the contest, Emerson blew the game open by crushing a two-run double to center field, giving the Cardinals a commanding cushion.
Defense and pitching were the true stars of the show as FWC secured their second shutout of the 2026 campaign. The defensive highlight of the afternoon came courtesy of right fielder Jaxon Casselberry, who robbed Legacy Christian of extra bases with a spectacular diving catch to keep the shutout intact.
With a 4-0 win in the books, Fort Worth Christian will take a quick breather before taking the field again Thursday evening. The Cardinals wrap up the doubleheader action by hosting Cornerstone Christian under the lights, looking to spark another winning streak.
