Fort Worth Christian kept its momentum rolling in Friday afternoon's tournament action, cruising to a 7-1 victory over Frisco Centennial on their home diamond. The Cardinals extended their winning streak to six games, improving their overall record to an outstanding 9-1 behind a balanced offensive attack and stellar pitching.
The Cardinals' offense struck with timely hits to build their lead. Braylen James provided a major spark, lacing a two-run single into right field that brought home Grady Emerson and Griffin Carney. Jake Parkerson kept the line moving throughout the afternoon, driving in a run on a deep fly ball to the outfield and later ripping a line-drive double into center field. Andrew Ridgell also punished the baseball, delivering a pair of doubles to right field, including one that banged off the outfield wall.
On the mound and in the field, FWC was dialed in to suppress the Centennial attack. Pitcher Jacob Pegg induced crucial contact outs, highlighted by a sharp grounder that he flipped to first baseman Antonio Andujar. Andujar also contributed on the bump, registering a swinging strikeout to help slam the door on the visitors.
