The Fort Worth Christian Cardinals capped off a dominant Monday doubleheader with a 12-0 shutout over the Austin Regents Knights. After taking Game 1 in run-rule fashion, FWC mirrored that success in Game 2, completely overpowering the Knights at Cat Corden Field to lock up the sweep and punch their ticket to the regional round.
The Cardinals wasted no time getting on the board, setting an aggressive tone from the jump. The offense struck early when Jaxon Casselberry hit a hard ground ball that was misplayed by the Regents' shortstop. The fielding error allowed the speedy Braylen James to cross the plate, giving the Cardinals a quick 1-0 lead that they would never relinquish.
As the game progressed, the Fort Worth Christian lineup simply overwhelmed the Austin Regents pitching staff. Grady Emerson sparked a massive rally by ripping a hard ground-ball double into right field, easily bringing Griffin Carney home to extend the lead to 9-0. Moments later, James continued the onslaught with a line drive to right that plated Emerson and allowed James to advance into scoring position.
Jake Parkerson provided the final offensive fireworks, launching a line-drive double deep into left field that scored both James and Casselberry to push the advantage to a commanding 12-0. On the defensive side, the Cardinals were flawless, perfectly supporting their pitching staff.
