Colleyville Heritage closed out the regular season in emphatic fashion on Friday night, capturing rivalry bragging rights in the Battle of the Red Rail with a commanding 58-25 road victory over the Grapevine Mustangs. The win extends the Panthers' winning streak to five games, pushing their final regular-season record to 7-3 overall and 6-2 in district action.

Stepping into the starting role at quarterback, freshman Lane Vargas showed composure and playmaking skill, connecting with Lucas Sunwall on a 29-yard touchdown strike to keep the passing attack in gear. The ground game was equally dominant, headlined by running back Colin Bennett slicing through the Mustang defense for a 59-yard touchdown sprint up the middle to break the contest wide open.

On defense and special teams, Colleyville Heritage consistently disrupted Grapevine's rhythm. Dax Hebeisen delivered key tackles behind the line of scrimmage to derail Mustang drives, while kicker Landon Dressell stayed steady on conversion attempts to keep the scoring margin climbing. The Panthers controlled the tempo throughout the second half to secure the runaway win.

Riding tremendous momentum with five consecutive victories, the battle-tested Panthers now turn all their attention to postseason action. Colleyville Heritage heads on the road next Friday, November 14, to battle Melissa in a high-stakes bi-district playoff matchup.
