Colleyville Heritage Panthers football · 2026 season · District.
The Colleyville Heritage Panthers delivered a dominant performance on Friday night, securing a 59-0 shutout victory over Community in front of their home crowd. Firing on all cylinders from the opening whistle, the offense lit up the scoreboard while the defense completely smothered the Braves, earning their first shutout of the season and improving their district standing.
Quarterback Lane Vargas orchestrated the aerial assault with lethal precision. Vargas connected with standout receiver Trevi Prysha for a pair of touchdowns, including a spectacular 40-yard strike to the end zone. The passing attack also featured reliable target Lucas Sunwall, who pulled down a 4-yard touchdown pass and broke loose for a 41-yard gain over the middle to keep the offense rolling. Even Mikey Hester got in on the action early, capping the opening drive with a crucial 11-yard touchdown reception over the middle.
The ground game provided excellent balance to Colleyville's explosive passing attack. Chandler Jones sparked the rushing effort, breaking away on a perfectly executed counter handoff and racing 39 yards down the left sideline to flip field position. Diego Caraballo Perez also contributed heavily down the stretch, consistently churning out physical runs and moving the chains to wear down the Community defense.
Defensively, the Panthers were an impenetrable wall. The front seven applied constant pressure, highlighted by a crushing 7-yard sack from Gio Derby that drove the Braves backward. Colleyville's defensive unit set an aggressive tone from the start and never relented, ensuring Community never sniffed the end zone throughout all four quarters.
With the emphatic 59-0 victory, Colleyville Heritage pushes its overall record to 4-3 and 2-1 in district play. The Panthers will look to ride this massive wave of momentum onto the road next Friday, traveling to face Argyle in another pivotal district showdown.
