The Southlake Carroll Dragons celebrated a major milestone in dominant fashion, dismantling the Northwest Texans 57-7 at Dragon Stadium. The victory was the 100th career win for head coach Riley Dodge and pushed the Dragons' perfect record to 7-0 on the season, virtually locking up a playoff berth with another commanding district performance.
The Dragon offense was explosive from the outset, overwhelming the Texans through the air and on the ground. Quarterback Angelo Renda was surgical, connecting with Brock Boyd on a 43-yard touchdown pass and later finding Blake Gunter for another score. Renda also showcased his dual-threat ability, keeping the ball on a read-option for an 8-yard touchdown run that kept the Northwest defense guessing all night.
The ground game was equally punishing. Running back Davis Penn broke the game open with an electrifying 39-yard touchdown run straight up the middle. Penn found the end zone on multiple occasions, consistently finishing drives and wearing down the opposing defensive line.
While the offense piled up points, the Dragons' defense delivered a statement performance of its own. The unit was suffocating, holding the Texans to a single score and creating points themselves when Marcus Brous intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown.
