Southlake Carroll moved to 2-0 on the season with a decisive 35-7 victory over the Hebron Hawks in a game that was called early in the third quarter due to lightning. For the second consecutive week, the Dragons had to battle both their opponent and the weather, but they showcased their trademark focus and explosive offense to secure the win at Dragon Stadium.

The Dragon air attack was electric from the start. Quarterback Angelo Renda continued his sensational start to the season, connecting with his receivers for huge, game-changing plays. Renda launched a perfect 68-yard touchdown bomb to a wide-open Blake Gunter to open the scoring and later found Brock Boyd, who made a spectacular diving catch for a 44-yard touchdown.

The ground game was just as effective, pounding the Hebron defense and controlling the line of scrimmage. Running back Brooks Biggers was a workhorse in the red zone, finding the end zone for two separate touchdowns. The balanced offensive assault proved to be too much for the Hawks to handle, allowing the Dragons to build an insurmountable lead before the weather rolled in.
