The Carroll Dragons engaged in a high-scoring shootout on Friday night at Dragon Stadium, falling 56-35 to a highly-ranked Allen squad. In front of an energized home crowd under the new stadium lights, the Dragons' offense showed plenty of early firepower, trading blows with the Eagles before Allen's big-play capability allowed them to pull away in the second half.
Quarterback Hudson Tomcheck orchestrated a spectacular start for the Dragons, wasting no time in getting the offense rolling. In the first quarter, Tomcheck unleashed a massive 69-yard touchdown strike to wide receiver Blake Gunter, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.
